#BlackLivesMatter: Open Letter to Chick Fil A - RE: #BackTheBlue

To whom it may concern,

As an independent Activist who operates within the #BlackLivesMatter movement against White supremacy, police brutality and all forms of racism, I have seen my fair share blame thrown from the media and law enforcement when an officer dies in the line of duty. Every single time, we find out that the officers were corrupt, and the incidences that they were involved in have nothing to do with BLM. Remember the Open Letter to Houston Chief of Police Charles McClelland and the statement I had to release regard the Goforth case?

Of course, we have received no apologies and each time the racist and biased movement #BlueLivesMatter to which Whites show up to, and en masse when there is a rally. So today, when I found out via The Blaze that you had your "patrons and employees at a Chick-Fil-A in The Woodlands, Texas, wearing T-shirts with the phrases “Go Blue or Go Home” and “Back the Blue” printed on them."

"Chick-Fil-A restaurant manager Eli Advincula told TheBlaze the T-shirts had two meanings: To show support for their local high school football team, whose colors are blue and green, and to support law enforcement officers. Advincula said that the restaurant wanted to “show our support for Police Lives Matter” because “they are out on our streets every day.” He added that his Chick-Fil-A location wanted to support the law enforcement community because of all that has been happening recently."
The fact that, on a corporate level you allow your franchisees to take such derogatory actions is not surprising. Given your stance on same sex marriage and a host of other issues, as a company, I have consciously learned not to patronize you. Texans tend to be bold with their brand of hate and funny that this is right outside of Houston, which is the most diverse city in the county, you know Black and Brown folks! I have warned fellow LGBT community members & People of Color, specifically Black folks not to patronize you given where you invest the money earned into programs and candidates with racist, homophobic and anti women stances. Not sure why they still buy your products, and if it were up to me, I would run you out of business.

You gets no love,

- Ashton
